VICTORIA ROWELL:A MOTHER WITH A CAUSE
VICTORIA ROWELL is a mother with a cause. The actress who is best known for playing Drucilla Winters on soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,’ has written a memoir titled “The Women Who Raised Me.” In her book,Victoria acknowledges the women who raised her during her 18 years spent in foster care. the month of May is National Foster Care Month,Victoria is helping to shed light to the issues of foster care…In addition,Victoria’s foundation helps to bring financial support to children in foster care. This is what the actress has to say about her non-profit organization:
In 1990, with my acting career in full swing I started RFCCP, a non-profit charitable organization offering scholarships to help children in foster care thrive through participation in fine arts classes, sports camps, and cultural enrichment activities. Our goal is simple: to help children who would otherwise not have a chance to reach their full potential. We strive to offer children the same long-term commitment and opportunities that foster parents, social workers, and mentors can provide. I believe that exposing them to these various disciplines at an early age enriches their lives more than we know, just as they did for me and others like me.
Victoria has two children in all. Her fist child named Maya(pictured to the right) is from her first marriage to Tom Fahey. Her second child,a son named Jasper(pictured to the left) is from her relationship with jazz musician Wynton Marsalis.

Look at the girl’s facial features, then squint at Victoria’s. Not that it matters. You can’t believe Mariah Carey is the only sista who looks like that. Have you seen Eartha Kitt’s daughter? One thing does puzzle me, though. I’ve seen lots of mixed kids (including my own). How come so many have blond hair. I never see any with red or auburn. My mother started with blond hair; my daughter too. My mother’s hair eventually settled into a very dark auburn. My daughter’s hair is some kinda brown with blond highlites. But I’m still puzzled about the children. Blond. go figure…
Hi victoria, i have recently purchased a home that i would like to use to help ‘children who would not otherwise have a chance to reach their full potential’. I have chosen the foster care system to achieve this. My home is equipped with a pool, basketball court and tennis court that i thought would be a huge benefit. I would like some help in making this a possibility as well as a success. would your scholarship program be available to me to pursue renovating and equipping this project. I would like a computer lab, a music room, website (not complete yet) show stall facilities, among other things to accomodate as many as 12 children and of a staff to work with me. If you would be so kind and let me know how i would be able to apply thanky you ivonda washington, atlanta, georgia
