HOLLY ROBINSON PEETE SPREADS THE WORD ABOUT AUTISM

Actress Holly Robinson Peete was the keynote speaker at AAA(Autism and Asperger Association) conference this past Thursday. The conference, which served to bring hope to parents with autistic children, was held in Austin,Texas. Holly, who has a 10-year-old autistic son named Rodney Jr., spoke to a crowd of people about raising a child with Autism: “My son was diagnosed when he was three years old. That’s almost eight years ago now. Some of the best information I’ve gotten on this journey of autism was of parents getting together and talking.”

Holly has said that she believes her son’s autism is the result of a MMR shot. She says her son developed autism after receiving the measles, mumps and rubella – MMR – vaccine. Yet a new study has found that there is no connection between autism and the MMR shot. Holly, however, stands by her belief and says that no study will refute that belief:“My study is my kid — I took him to get this MMR shot, and he was never the same after that,” said Peete.

Actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband Rodney Peete have four children: twins Ryan Elizabeth(girl) and Rodney Jr(boy), 10 ½, Robinson James, 5 ½, and Roman, 3.
