She launched two fashion lines in 2005, Luxe & Romance, a lingerie line that was introduced during New York’s Fashion Week, and Xraye, her new jeans line for women.

Her Daughter received one of the scholarships that the other Children have been fighting for all their lives. She is doing the Ultra Scholar so to speak. With all that is happening now down in the Turks & Caicos Islands, she will be back in a LA College real soon. As for LisaRaye, that’s a story of another Color.

I also agree with “Janis”. How did she win a scholarship that other children we’re fighting to win? That seems incredibly unfair. If she wants her name to be out there for her academic achievements she should probably go for something else. I know I would be highly upset if I was determined to receive that scholarship and knew that she could probably pay the tuition of all f the children who applied and then some.

Just because someone has a straight nose DOES NOT mean they are mixed (my dad has a straight nose and he is full black). & About her straight hair, have you ever heard of a perm or a straightening iron DUMBASS. @ Sarsh, Skin color and hair texture are not always an accurate indication of race or ethnicity. There are many blacks who are much lighter that Lisa Ray, with straighter, or wavy hair, and so called caucasion facial features. My sister is a prime example. Im lisa Rays complexion, but my sister is much lighter with hazel eyes and wavy hair. People ask her all the time if she is mixed.when she says no, they act like they dont believe her. Both of our parents are black, and both of Lisa Rays parents are black. Another example is how alot of East Africans look like they could be hispanic with olive skin tones and wavy hair. Are you going to say that they arent really African? Im tired of people thinking that Blacks arent as diverse as other races. All black people arent dark skinned with kinky coily hair. Now if your grandparents or your parents are straight from the African continent, mainly the Western half then sure they could be Full African.
Dre=The Eastern Africans bit don’t count.They are near the Middle Easterners,and Asians. So they are racially mixed. And like I said above to MINA, if you’re an African American and have had relatives here since slavery time, your genes aren’t FULL African. There is atleast some European or Native American genes in the lineage.
I agree with Suz I have even said as much in a few of my other post. I am a tawny color and my nose is pointy. People tell me all the time I have a white person’s nose. Whatever that means.
It is the reason there are so many color variations in people skin tones. Just because your parents are both black doesn’t mean that they can’t have some other heritage back down in the family tree.
It’s funny. My two older kids are both darker than my husband and I and the to little ones are lighter than he and I.

Are you implying that Lisa’s daughter is heavy because she only got material love from her mom? She may have been sexually violated or any number of other reasons beside the fact that her mom showered her with material things instead of love and attention.
@ SUZ. I understand that nobody is “full” black, but at the same time, an African American with two black parents and black grandparents are NOT going to go around claiming to be mixed. If that were the case ALL African Americans would claim to be mixed instead of simply calling themselves African American. If the MAJORITY of someone is of black descent, than I’m going to call them black. The point I was trying to make is that just because someone has a staight nose, long hair etc.. does not mean that they are DIRECTLY mixed.
Now I get what you’re saying with the directly mixed part.
Back to what I said about East Africans not counting. They do count as a person from the African Continent,BUT They are mixed.

I think most people understand what one means when he or she uses the term mixed; anyone who doesn’t has lived under a rock his or her whole life or is well…umm…mentally challenged (to whatever degree). Also, Suz I’d have to disagree with you about there being no fully black African Americans (whose ancestors have been here since slavery). I actually know a few myself. It’s surprising that you said such statements but actually know that East Africans, namely those who have straight hair, are of mixed heritage (I’m assuming you know they have Arab blood). I know this is a controversial statement that some wish not to accept; but, anytime a person has non-kinky hair and/or a light complexion and/or light eyes, 99.99% of the time, he or she has some non-black blood. They don’t call us black for no reason. Although black has always been beautiful; black beauty is as diverse as it is today because of race mixing. Plain and simple.
